Photographs

Photos on this site come from Wikimedia Commons and other free photo libraries. Each one is used under the license its photographer chose, and the list below gives the photographer, the license and a link to the original for every photo, in picture-number order.

Photos may be cropped or resized to fit the layout. In a few, brand logos, company names or other identifying markings were blurred, so a picture illustrates the topic without pointing to a particular product or business.

Generated pictures

Where no suitable free photo of a scene could be found, such as a gauge on a hose bib or a filter on a garage wall, the site uses a photo-realistic generated picture instead. Each one carries the caption "Generated picture, not a photo of a real home" on the page where it appears, so it is never mistaken for a photograph of a real house.

Generated pictures show typical equipment and settings only. They are not evidence of how any product performs, and they are not taken from any real property in North County.
